Not every customer is a customer you want to have. There are those that are just pure time wasters. There are those that are just too difficult and demanding to do business with. And there are those that are way too expensive to deal with.
The impact:
Many businesses are not aware of a huge, and in some cases devastating, impact bad customers could have on your business.
Bad customers could be consuming much of your energy, time, resources, cycles and cash that they will be seriously jeopardizing the entire business.
Since bad customers drain so much, your ability to grow good customers would be seriously diminished.
Worst case scenario is when you don’t even realize you have bad customers.
The solution:
You have no choice here!
Since bad customers ruin your business, you either change terms of doing business or simply fire them! The sooner you do this, the better it will be for you.
Check which customers keep your organization constantly occupied and busy. Identify clients that have extensive custom terms. Are there customers when you even mention their name, you already feel bad?
What about customers that give you significant amount of business? Are you making enough profits to cover all the costs? Can you justify efforts to serve them? Can you live with their terms and conditions?
Invest time to identify bad customers. Reevaluate business that they give you. Ask yourself, is it worth it? Would you be better off by increasing your prices or simply firing them?
You may do your business the biggest favor there is.
